Reading Day 5

After fifteen days I am finally getting the importance of planning, and consistency. In today’s reading the author made the most valid point for multimedia in the classroom, keep it simple and easy to read. I have learned this the hard way, during my summer classes. I did find the font size a little odd for the classroom a larger font is needed but I find in most of my presentations 24pt. is too large.
I have also found getting someone else to review my projects. Although I admit there comes a point when you do not want anyone else to tell you what you did wrong. I have also appreciated the eyes of a younger person. Will has been an asset with advice from a very objective point of view.
I also see the need for Photoshop to crop and edit my pictures. I had never done this before and the experience has taught me a lot about myself as an objective viewer of my works… I just hope I can survive this class and the further work ahead.

Yes...I remember when I took boot camp and learned about all of these little "tricks of the trade." Even though it's been 4 years since I have taken these classes, I am finding that I still need these simple little reminders.

I started off using all of those "cute" little animated clip arts, but soon tired of them and moved on to the more "meaningful." I still remember Dr. Christie telling us not to use the animations and I really didn't understand why at the time...now I get it. :O) They aren't so cute anymore...actually they can be VERY annoying when you are trying to concentrate on the message. :O)

I'm thinking a "flip book" of guidelines would be handy to have so we can easily refer back to remind us of these good tips.

Patti-really good idea...Dr Christie's version of the Elements of Style...

Kathleen...once you get the basics down (as you're doing) the rest flows so much easier and you see how it all fits in other areas as well...
